Trip's Frist Christmas

We have truly had an amazing holiday season. We've been surrounded with family, friends and lots of love. Trip seemed to enjoy himself altough I'm certain he had no idea what was going on. He received a ridiculous amount of toys, but he most favorite toy of all is his little red wagon from Gaky and Pops. He will dash out the garage door to get to it in hopes of going for a ride anytime of the day or night. I need to take more pictures of him in it, but here are some snapshots from Christmas.

Gigi's Visit

Gigi just came for her first visit since Trip was a couple of weeks old. We had such a good time! We finally got some great pictures of the two of them and some with Dad.

Colson (the biggest kid of the family) bought some silly string because he just knew Trip would like it (translation = he wanted to play with it and if Trip liked it all the better!). Well, Trip LOVED it. He thought it was hilarious, so we video taped him laughing at it since he is still a hard one to get a chuckle out of.

Halloween Weekend

Halloween weekend was a blur for all of us. We had Gaky, Pops, and Aunt Bunny here for the weekend and the majority of us were sick! Trip is going on his second round of the stomach virus. It's not fun for any of us. He hasn't slept through the night in over a month and it's definitely taking its toll. Regardless of the growing pains, we are still having fun. I think he had his Halloween costume on for maybe 5 minutes... it was way too hot in Texas for that!

Trip's Album

Trip is getting is bottom two teeth right now, crawling like crazy and thinks he can just stand up anywhere he is. He has already learned to go up the stairs, but still doesn't have good balance. (We still haven't figured out a way to baby proof our stairs!) We finally got someone to come to our house to take some quick "professional" pictures of Trip. ("Professional" is used loosely here, but they are definitely better than anything I could have done.)

Trip is 6 Months Old!

Trip turned 6 months old yesterday and week took him for his checkup. He weighs 18.03 lbs and is 26.5 inches long. He has absolutely no teeth coming in... he is all gums. He started crawling on Tuesday of this week and now we can barely keep up with ourselves. We have to baby proof our home immediately according to the doctor, so that's our weekend project. He also started pulling himself up this week, so we're just waiting for the day that he tries to climb out of his crib like his daddy did! It really seems like he changed overnight. He is such a joy. We get a kick out of watching him grow and explore new things. He's still pretty stingy with his giggles, but boy we sure bring out all the tricks to try to make him laugh until we realize how funny we must look. As Gigi says, "We need new material!"

This is how I find him now when I go get him in the morning... Trip crawling... 6 month old picture...

Our Little Razorback!

I tortured my child yesterday. Kilee sent us a Razorback warm-up suit that her kids wore, but Trip will be too big for it when the season is right for it. SO... I made him wear it in this hot Texas heat just to get pictures! Of course I think he's adorable in it, and I honestly think he was smiling while wearing it because he was so excited to know he'll be a Razorback in 18 years (no pressure!)!!

Weekend in Arkansas

Our visit to Arkansas was great! Trip was great on the car ride to Kilee's in Malvern. Malvern to Batesville was a little rough. The ride back to Texas on Sunday was hard on him. I don't blame him after all we put him through over those few days. He was definitely a trooper!

Here are some pics from the weekend of him with Kilee's squids. They were fantastic with him (even though he does look a bit scared in some of the pictures). They couldn't get enough of him and showered him with lots of love.

We also baptized Trip while we were there. He was great during that event, too. He loved to sing along in church!

Fourth of July Weekend

We spent part of the Fourth of July weekend celebrating at Grand-Godfather's pool. Tres decided it was time to introduce beer to Trip even though Mom was a little leery! Trip enjoyed his time in the pool with his godfather and grand-godfather. We spent the weekend pool hopping and being with friends. It was a great weekend!

4 Month Checkup

We took Trip for his 4 month checkup today. He is 26 inches long and weighs 17 pounds. We got in trouble for feeding him too much and for letting him swim. I guess babies aren't supposed to get in the pool until they are 6 months old. Not sure that we'll listen to that advice!

Trip rolled over from his back to his stomach this weekend. He has been rolling over from his stomach to his back for some time, and we've been waiting for this new development. He wakes himself up rolling from his stomach to his back but now he has mastered both, so Mom won't have to get up in the middle of the night to roll him back over to his stomach. (Yes, we have a stomach sleeper.) The rolling over pictures aren't great, but I posted them anyway.

Trip & His Cereal

Trip turned 16 weeks old on June 12, so we decided to give him a taste of delicious rice cereal even though we don't go for our 4 month check up until the 23rd. Well, he HATES cereal. He seems to be a bit like his mom and can't stand the texture. We're working hard on it everyday, though. What we can shove in his mouth has helped him sleep. He has slept from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. everyday that he's had cereal before bed. Mom has actually slept less than before with anticipation that he's "about to wake up any minute now"!!

Trip's First Swim

Trip loves the pool. We put him in his turtle float and he kicks his legs like crazy. We at least put our feet in the pool everyday. He loves to wrap up in Mom's robe when he gets out of the pool.

Trip's First Easter March 23, 2008

We took Trip to meet his great-grandmother, Tina. Gaky bought him an Easter basket and a book, but again he could have cared less! We took pictures of him playing and yes, that is one of his little bottom. I don't know what is worse - the fact that we couldn't get his diaper on correctly or the fact that we took a picture of it.

Trip's First Snow March 6, 2008

Trip's first snow was at his first home. Colson worked so hard building Trip his first snowman. Trip could have cared less! Of course, Colson had to work in some advertising, too.
